ABOUT ME.

My name is Sebastiaan Peek (hence PEEQ.) born in 1987 and living in the middle of the Netherlands.
My interest in photography started with photos on Instagram and this led to me buying my first SLR camera in August 2017, the Nikon D3400. I deliberately chose this entry-level model, because I didn't know at the time how I would like photographing. My main interest lies in landscapes, so that's why I started with a Nikon 18-55mm lens.

Obviously a lot on the road and especially shooting photos in the automatic mode. From close to home to the Oisterwijkse Vennen en Bossen (see photo above) and even further, I got more and more into the taste. Read a lot online and eventually bought a polarizing filter and variable neutral density filter to be able to take more and more different photos. Now also in manual mode and also more with slower shutter speed.

In addition, Instagram continued to inspire me, which led to a road trip through Europe in the summer of 2018. Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg and Belgium. In the meantime I had also become acquainted with Lightroom Mobile and here I edit the contrasts, colors and light of my photos. Photoshop or other editing programs do not come to adjust it. But never say never.

Meanwhile, drone photography came into my mind more and more. That led to me buying my own DJI Mavic Mini in 2021. Here too consciously opted for the entry-level model, because yes, how long will photography remain fun?! Also here a lot on the road in the area to fly and learn. In addition, I got my EU drone certificate so that I can also fly in other countries, if it comes to that. In the end I also got hold of the 'drone fly virus' and I regularly go out to shoot beautiful pictures.

Photography is and remains a hobby, so I was very surprised (and of course happy) that one of the largest camera brands Nikon shared my photo on their Social Media channels on Facebook and Instagram.

Last year I was already looking for a new camera and since the future is a system camera, since the beginning of 2022 I have (unfortunately for Nikon) at my disposal a Canon EOS RP with a 24-105 mm lens. With a number of Benro filters in addition, I hope to shoot even more beautiful photos in the future, which can hang on the wall not only with me but also with you (and there are already a number of them in various rooms).
